Miami plans party after Castro's death

Miami wants to use the Orange Bowl in Little Havana to throw a party after the death of Fidel Castro (pictured).

It might include commemorative T-shirts, a catchy slogan and bands that will make your hips shake.

The stadium is a bittersweet landmark for Cuban-Americans. After the 1961 Bay of Pigs fiasco, more than 35,000 exiles gathered there to hear President John F. Kennedy promise a free Cuba. Decades later, the stadium served as a camp for Mariel boatlift refugees.

City Commissioner Tomas Regalado, a Cuban-American, came up with the idea of using the venue for an event timed to Castro's demise.

"He represents everything bad that has happened to the people of Cuba for 48 years," Regalado said. "There is something to celebrate, regardless of what happens next. ... We get rid of the guy."

It is easy to understand the strong feelings of Cubans who have been adversely affected by Castro since 1959.

Controversial nude X-ray camera scheme in Britain

Nude X-ray cameras started at London’s Heathrow airport and they were tried here in the United States on a test basis at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix as we reported here.

There was an article in the Sun last week about nude X-ray cameras on lamp posts in London. The Sun is Britain’s equivalent to supermarket gossip tabloids in the U.S. such as National Enquirer.

Al Gore and Rush Limbaugh nominated for Nobel Peace prize

Rush Limbaugh (upper picture) and Al Gore (lower picture) have been nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

Limbaugh is best known for his daily radio show which is heard by more than 20 million people on more than 600 radio stations in the United States and around the world.

Al Gore is best known for his 8 years as an inactive vice president of the United States. Also for his controversial film, “An Inconvenient truth.”

Should either of them win 2007 Nobel Laureate for Peace they would receive the Nobel Peace Prize medal and a cash award of $10 million Norwegian Kroner (approximately $1.6 million).

There will be other nominees for the prize. It’s just that Limbaugh and Gore will probably be the two most unlikely candidates.

Hillary said she would not have started Iraq war

Here is what Hillary Rodham Clinton (pictured) said in 2002:

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program.

He [Saddam Hussein] has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ...

It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

Now we hear a different story.

Speaking to a huge audience of Democratic elders and activists, Mrs. Clinton was left in no doubt that her vote authorizing the war poses a serious threat to her candidacy, by the heckling she received and the rapturous reception given to Barack Obama, her main rival.

Hillary has a foggy memory or at least she hopes voters have a foggy memory about her vote to go to war.

She is now saying if she would have been president she would not have declared war on Iraq.

What she forgets is that congress declares war, not the president. However, by her vote of affirmation on the resolution authorizing the use of force, she, along with other members of congress really did “declare war.”

Barack Obama and others will keep reminding voters of the Hillary flip-flop on this issue all during the primary elections.

Global warming is just a paper tiger

An op-ed article here claims global warming is nothing but a paper tiger.

Quick, somebody call Al Gore (pictured) so he can have his Global Warming police bring down that web site before anyone else sees it!

The Al Gore … propaganda machine seeks to limit each person to 1 ton of carbon per year. The proposal is to create a system of carbon allowances that will be the rationing cards of the future.

The government would dole out what bureaucrats think we should have.

Kyoto targets, however, will not be met. Two facts about the futility of controlling emissions:

1) Uncontrolled fires in China's abandoned coal mines release as much carbon dioxide as the entire nation of Japan does from useful fuel consumption.
2) The oceans and land outgas 210 billion tons per year compared to 3 billion tons per year from human activity.

Ian Murray, a critic of Gore's "work," recently detailed 25 truths that Gore conveniently leaves out of the companion book to his video because they are inconvenient to his argument.

Gore says we only have 10 years to return to a medieval lifestyle.

If we all returned to a medieval lifestyle, we would all be burning wood for fuel and building our houses and oxcarts out of wood. How long would our forests last with the population of the earth today?

The following is a somewhat humorous posting on Lucianne:

1) Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May and still smelled pretty good by June.

4) The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt, hence the saying "dirt poor."

Democrat culture of corruption in Missouri

The Democrat 'culture of corruption' remains alive and well. This time it surfaces in Missouri.

Democratic state Rep. John Bowman (pictured) of St. Louis, was indicted with 16 others in a bank and credit card fraud scheme, the U.S. attorney's office said.

According to the indictment, unsealed Monday, former Bank of America Vice President Robert Conner recruited Bowman and others to submit false applications for small-business credit cards. The indictment accuses Conner of receiving kickback payments.

Kerry badmouthing America again

If Kerry isn’t making derogatory remarks about our military, he is often badmouthing the United States.

Most big city newspapers in Massachusetts love John Kerry (pictured) and take every opportunity to coddle the 2004 failed presidential candidate. However, there is a small town newspaper that is brave enough to “tell it like it is.” saying Kerry badmouthed the U.S. again.

Maybe it's something about the high mountain air of Switzerland that gets into John Kerry's brain and scrambles his common sense.

Or maybe we're just seeing again how completely unsuited for public office the senator from Massachusetts is.

Kerry was at the World Economic Forum Saturday where he told a panel, that included former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami, that America has become "a sort of international pariah." It's all the Bush administration's fault, Kerry said, which no doubt pleased our friends in Iran.

There once was an unwritten code of ethics that said ethical politicians should leave partisan politics at home when they travel abroad.

Carter apologizes for stupid wording in book

Former president Jimmy Carter (pictured) wrote a book last fall titled: “Palestine: Peace not Apartheid.”

He has spent most of the past two months defending the book.

That's not surprising, the controversial book needs defending.

Carter has been accused of plagiarism. Parts of the book, including a map, is said to have been copied from other publications.

The plagiarized map was even altered.

After the book was published, 15 board members at his Atlanta-based Carter Center resigned in protest of the book's content.

Carter very likely will be defending the book for a very long time.

Covington Louisiana police said they caught a 16-year-old robbery suspect who had eluded authorities on several previous occasions.

The suspect was caught when his baggy pants fell down, causing him to stumble as officers chased him.

They literally caught him with his pants down.

Jacko back in US for first time since trial

Michael Jackson, the poster boy for botched plastic surgery, is back in the United States.

Jackson (pictured) has been in self-imposed exile since his child molestation trial that ended in 2005.

He is on the comeback trail, planning a pair of "fan appreciation events" in Japan in March, one of which will charge 400,000 yen (£1,690) for the opportunity to have from 30 seconds to one minute of face time with the singer.

During a brief conference call with the Associated Press, which Jackson's handlers said was his first with the media since the trial, Jackson read a statement but allowed only one question: how are you? "I'm fine, thank you," was his reply.

This really wasn’t Jacko’s first return to the U.S. since his infamous trial. He came back for James Brown's memorial service and on another occasion he was in Las Vegas.

Could it be the Brit’s once more got a story wrong?

Liberal political talk radio fails in Santa Cruz

There is an article here announcing the failure of liberal talk radio in Santa Cruz, California.

The article begins by saying:

Al Franken, Randi Rhodes and Sam Seeder — articulate liberal pundits — don't sell well, even in Santa Cruz.

I don’t know about Sam Seeder, but to call Al Franken (pictured) and Randi Rhodes articulate is like saying the world is flat. Their ranting and raving on-air delivery is anything but articulate.

Liberal talk radio should sell well in such a liberal community as Santa Cruz but obviously it didn’t.

KSCO is actually a conservative radio station that decided to give liberal Air America a chance, hoping that enough advertising could be sold to make it pay. Well, it didn’t.

The station owner said: “We didn't sell a single ad in a year and a half…I thought liberal radio would work as a viable advertising business in the most liberal town in America. I was wrong"

Air America has been replaced with music from the 1950s, '60s and '70s in Santa Cruz. So much for liberal radio in a liberal town.

Hmm…a year and a half without a single paying advertisement…wonder if that will appear in Franken’s next book?

Police in Tijuana now armed with slingshots

Tijuana's police force of 2,000 officers has been without guns since Jan. 5 when soldiers confiscated their weapons on allegations of collusion with drug traffickers.

A municipal police spokesman said that the slingshots, along with bags of ballbearings, were given to the police in place of their guns.

If the slingshots aren’t effective, they could always give ‘em swords and spears.

Maybe next they’ll take away their bicycles and give ‘em donkeys to ride.

Pressure for Burger polygraph over 9/11 documents

Tom Davis is leading a group of 18 lawmakers who say the Justice Department should give Sandy Berger (pictured) a polygraph test over 9/11 documents he stole from the national archives.

Davis is the ranking Republican on the Committee on Oversight and GovernmentReform.

The 18 lawmakers say the Justice Department has been "remarkably incurious" about Berger's decision to remove documents relating to the Sept. 11 commission's inquiry into his role in helping prevent terror attacks during the Clinton administration.

After searching the national archives and a search of Sandy Berger’s home there were documents still missing.

Drafts of a sensitive after-action report on the Clinton administration's handling of Al Qaeda terror threats during the December 1999 millennium celebration are still missing, officials and lawyers said.

Officials said the missing documents also identified America's terror vulnerabilities at airports to seaports.

At the national archives, Sandy Berger was seen stuffing papers in his pants and even in his socks in 2004.

Berger claimed any document removal was inadvertent. Stuffing documents in ones pants and socks doesn’t sound inadvertent.

Besides, if it was inadvertent, why did Berger agree to pay a fine for his actions? In addition to the fine, Berger was prohibited from access to classified government materials for three years.

The irony of this is that Sandy Berger could be once again be National Security Advisor should a Democrat be elected to the White House in 2008. His three years would be up long before then.

The polygraph test is too little too late. Even if he fails the test, Berger will continue to ‘get away’ with his crime just like his former boss Bill Clinton always 'got away' with his misdeeds.

Must be nice to be a Democrat in Washington knowing that your actions will not be seriously prosecuted.

Botched Joke kills Kerry’s presidential hopes

John Kerry (pictured - on the outside looking in) has decided not to run for president in 2008. His ‘botched joke.’ was the straw that broke his back.

Kerry claimed it was intended as a joke when he told students, “If you … do your homework, you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Bad news for his supporters in Boston and eastern Massachusetts.

Good news for the Military he tried to defame. This is also good news for liberals all over the county who were heartbroken because of his inept campaign in 2004. They will welcome someone - anyone - who is a little more electable.

Conservatives successfully stereotyped Kerry as a flip-flopper which began with his infamous statement that he voted for the $87 billion before he voted against it.

The $87 billion flip-flop was a gift to the Repulicans that just kept on giving.

731 illegals nabbed in largest sweep ever

Federal officials said they made a weeklong series of raids in a five-county region in southern California that targeted illegal immigrants who had previously been deported for crimes or had ignored final deportation orders.

The sweep netted illegal immigrants from 14 countries in all, including Mexico, Honduras, Ukraine, India, Japan, Poland and Trinidad.

The raids netted 338 illegal immigrants who were arrested at their homes and apartments and 423 who were identified in area jails since Jan. 17.

It was another move in the right direction. However, it is possible that twice that number of illegals came across our southern border while the weeklong raid was in progress.

CNN stumbles over itself to aid Barack Obama

An article on CNN online is so eager to defend Barack Hussein Obama (pictured) that it uses the title: “CNN debunks false report about Obama.”

If the report is false, why does it need debunking? Seems like CNN is stumbling over itself to aid Senator Obama.

Did the report come from a Kinko’s in Abilene, Texas? If so, it could be fake but accurate. Just ask Dan Rather.

The most interesting part of this story is that CNN has so thoroughly rushed to the aid of the man Hillary Clinton considers her most formidable opponent.

After defending Bill Clinton for over a decade, CNN is now defending Hillary’s toughest opponent.

Why the CNN turn-around? Is CNN fearful of a possible woman president?

She had a prescription

A lady went into a drug store and asked for some cyanide.

The pharmacist asked, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?"

The lady then explained she needed it to poison her husband.

The pharmacist's eyes got big and he said, "I can't give you cyanide
to kill your husband! That's against the law! I'll lose my license,
they'll throw both of us in jail and all kinds of bad things will

Hillary losing Bill's allies

One thing Hillary (pictured) could always count on was the financial and moral support of Bill’s army of allies -- until now, that is.

A handful of top Clinton administration officials and a smattering of lower-ranking ones have taken up with Mrs. Clinton's rivals for the Democratic nomination.

Most cite pre-existing personal or professional loyalties. In some instances, however, the Democratic activists seem to have concluded that they will have more of an impact in the leaner ranks of a rival campaign than in the hierarchy of Mrs. Clinton's long-planned bid.

As the support of Bill’s allies falls away, Hillary will need to fight off her opponents with less support than she had hoped.

If enough of Bill’s allies fade, Hillary and her candidacy may also fade.

Maybe it doesn’t matter who is the standard bearer for the Democrats in 2008.

They have a habit of selecting losing candidates starting with McGovern followed by Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry.

Will Senator Kerry run in 2008?

The Boston Globe online has an article titled: “Kerry hopes to decide on presidential bid by month's end.”

Kerry (pictured) was supposedly near a decision last fall when he shot himself in the foot with his "botched joke" about President Bush and the Iraq war which was an insult to U.S. troops.

If he decides to run, will Democrats outside of Massachusetts support him? If not, his candidacy may die on the vine even before the Iowa Caucuses.

Democrats outside of Massachusetts as well as the media have not forgotten how his poorly managed campaign left them heartbroken on election day in 2004.

Hillary: “I’m in to win”

Senator Clinton (upper picture) has officially entered the race for president and is eyeing Senator Barack Obama (lower picture) as her most formidable opponent.

Obama, the current darling of the media, could very well be a formidable opponent and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Hillary will attack Obama on two fronts.

First, Hillary will keep reminding voters that Obama is a mulatto. His father is black and his mother is a Caucasian. This will transfer many black votes away from Obama.

Second, she will call attention to Obama’s Islamic heritage. He attends a Christian church but has not confirmed nor denied his Muslim background publicly

His father was a Muslim who gave him the name Barack Hussein Obama. His mother’s second husband moved the family to Jakarta where he was raised and schooled as a Muslim when he was young.

Obama is probably counting on the friendly media to ignore his Muslim background. Hillary won’t ignore his Muslim connection, however.

This could be quite entertaining.

His forgetter may be getting better

This is about two elderly people living in a Retirement Condominium Complex. He was a widower and she was a widow. They had known one another for a year or two. One evening there was a community buffet in the Activity Center. These two were at the same table sitting across from one another.

As the meal went on, he made a few admiring glances at her and finally gathered up his courage to ask her, "Will you marry me?" After about three split seconds of careful consideration, she answered. "Yes. Yes, I will." After the meal, they stayed and visited for a short time before going back to their separate condos.

Next morning, he was puzzled. "Did she say 'yes' or did she say 'no'?" He just could not remember. He finally mustered enough courage to call her. First, he explained to her that he his memory was not as sharp as when he was younger. Then he thanked her for the wonderful time he had visiting with her at the buffet the evening before.

As he gained a little more courage he finally asked her, "When I asked if you would marry me, did you say 'Yes' or did you say 'No'?" She replied, "I said, Yes, yes I will and I meant it with all my heart." Then she continued, "And I am so glad that you called, because I couldn't remember who had asked me."

Hillary to exploit Barack Obama’s Muslim heritage

Barack Hussein Obama (pictured) does have Muslim heritage. He was given the name Hussein by his Muslim father who was black and came from Kenya.

After his parents divorced and his father returned to Kenya, Barack's mother married an Indonesian student and the family moved to Jakarta. Mr. Obama returned to Hawaii when he was 10 to live with his maternal grandparents

In Indonesia, Barack Obama was enrolled in a Madrassa and was raised and educated as a Muslim

Obama currently attends services at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago’s South Side. However, he is not known to be a regular parishioner.

Mr. Obama’s Muslim heritage will soon be exploited by Hillary Clinton who regards Mr. Obama as her most formidable opponent and the biggest obstacle to the Democratic Party’s 2008 presidential nomination.

Democrat leader wanted escalation - until Bush proposed it

Newsweek magazine covered an interview with Congressman Silvestre Reyes (D-Texas) last December.

At the time Reyes was the incoming House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman.

"In a surprise twist in the debate over Iraq," the story began, Mr. Reyes "said he wants to see an increase of 20,000 to 30,000 U.S. troops as part of a 'stepped up effort to dismantle the militias.' "

"We have to consider the need for additional troops to be in Iraq, to take out the militias and stabilize Iraq," the Texas Democrat said to the surprise of many, "I would say 20,000 to 30,000."

Then came President Bush's expected announcement, virtually matching Mr. Reyes' recommendation and argument word-for-word -- except the president proposed only 21,500 troops.

Then what happens? Just hours after the president announced his proposal, Mr. Reyes told the El Paso Times that such a troop buildup was unthinkable.

Reyes, not know for his intellect, is the man who was unable to tell Sunni from Shia, incorrectly maintained that al-Qaeda belonged to the second persuasion, and stumbled into paralyzed silence when asked the same question about the Shia group Hezbollah!

Article: It's time to kill the pit bulls

The writer of an article Wisconsin State Journal article says: “It's time to kill the pit bulls.”

The Dane County Humane Society says it is spending nearly $6,000 a week to care for 47 pit bulls authorities believe were bred for fighting.

Half the available space in the humane society shelter is devoted to the dangerous dogs. The organization has cut back on its efforts to protect other animals because of the costs incurred by the pit bulls.

In addition, the humane society has to hire guards to protect the shelter during off hours because unknown terrorists have threatened to harm society employees should they harm the pit bulls.

He has been going all over the world propping up dictators and thugs, so why not help a Nazi SS guard?

Recently he wrote a book that did not hide his anti-Semitic views. The book allegedly contains plagiarized passages. A plagiarized map was even altered to suit the book.

Sandy Berger and his theft of state secrets

There is an article here about Bill Clinton’s former National Security Advisor, Sandy Berger (pictured), who stole state secrets from the national archives.

Some things cry out for explanation. Like finding $90,000 in marked bills in a Congressman's freezer. Or finding out that a blue-chip lawyer who held one of the most important jobs in the nation was willing to risk his career, his livelihood, and his liberty to steal, hide, and destroy classified documents.

We all have a pretty good idea what the money was doing in Representative William Jefferson's freezer. But the questions about President William Jefferson Clinton's National Security Adviser, Sandy Berger, just keep piling up.

Mr. Berger, the Clintons, and their allies do not want questions about this story asked or answered.

Mr. Berger's lawyer, Lanny Breuer, along with former Clinton officials, assured us that all of the material destroyed by Berger existed in other form and was made available to the 9/11 investigations, that nothing relevant to the Clinton Administration's response to al-Qaeda was withheld.

Of course, we also were assured that Monica had only imagined a relationship with Bill and that rumors to the contrary were, in Hillary's famous phrase, the work of a "vast right-wing conspiracy."

Just as the media was quick to pick up on Hillary’s "vast right-wing conspiracy" phrase, they were just as quick to ignore the Sandy Berger state secret theft incident.

There is one possible reason the Clinton’s were able to keep Berger from receiving punishment befitting his treasonous crime.

The memory of what happened to Clinton Administration attorney Vincent Foster is still vivid and remains a powerful reminder of what could happen to anyone who is tempted to cross the Clinton’s on a major issue.

School district says no to Gore junk science film

A school district in the Seattle area will not allow the Al Gore film shown unless there is an approved “counter point” presentation also shown.

The Federal Way School Board Tuesday night put the brakes on schools showing Al Gore’s global warming movie, “An Inconvenient Truth.”

The board required that an opposing view be presented in order for teachers to present the film. Board president Ed Barney said he’s received about a half-dozen complaints from parents that their child was taking the film as fact after viewing it at school.

“We have to ensure that our schools are not being used to politically indoctrinate anyone,” said board member Dave Larson. The board voted 3 to 0, with two members absent.

First it was John Kerry calling American troops child killers and rapists, as in the days of "Jenjis Khan."

Then there was his wife Teresa saying that Mrs. Laura Bush staying at home raising two daughters "didn't have a real job."

Then both John Edwards and John Kerry went on to publicly gay bait Vice President Cheney about his lesbian daughter.

This was followed a few years later by Kerry saying that people who joined the US military were stupid and society's losers.

Now we have Barbara Boxer, Senator from Disneyland on The Bay, implying that a very accomplished, distinguished African American woman, Dr. Condoleeza Rice, isn't fit for her office because she hasn't given birth to children, a condemnation she wouldn't dare raise about the white Gloria Steinem, Donnna Shalala or Janet Reno.

The article is “right on” and is well worth reading in its entirety.

The only thing I could possibly add is to say that the disdain of the Democrats is seldom challenged because 85% of the media is decidedly liberal and applauds this type of behavior.

Democrat House Speaker and her fishy friends

The Democrat culture of corruption is not only alive and will, it is thriving in the liberal controlled House of Representatives.

House Democrats believe in open, honest government. Well, right after they get caught, that is.

Turns out, in the hoopla of self-congratulations following Democratic House leaders' passage of a minimum-wage hike, some low-wage workers learned their wages would be staying, well, low.

For workers in American Samoa - almost all of them employed by StarKist Tuna - were exempted from the hike rushed through by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (pictured).

And American Samoa would become the only territory with such an exemption. Curious? Not really.

StarKist is owned by Del Monte, a San Francisco-based company - that is to say, a Pelosi constituent.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, an appalling scold from California, wasted no time yesterday in dragging the debate over Iraq about as low as it can go - attacking Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for being a childless woman.

Boxer (pictured) was wholly in character for her party - New York's own two Democratic senators, Chuck Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton, were predictably opportunistic - but the Golden State lawmaker earned special attention for the tasteless jibes she aimed at Rice.

It was as if Condoleezza Rice avoided motherhood so that she would not have offspring to send to Iraq.

Just when you think the Democrats can’t go any lower, they do. Senator Boxer just proved it.

Fasten your seatbelts, it will be a long bumpy ride for the next two years.

Democrats new direction outlined

I will also post this on my other blog tomorrow:

The Democrats keep saying they want the country to go in a new direction.

Let’s review the current situation based on the direction the country has been going:

1. Taxes are at a 20-year low while IRS revenue coming into the treasury is increasing even after the Bush tax cuts.

2. The federal deficit is at a 4-year low.

3. The Dow is at a new high and keeps going higher.

4. Inflation is at a near 20-year low.

5. Home valuations are up 200% over the past three and one half years.

6. Terrorists have not struck the United States since September 11, 2001 while many terrorist attacks have been thwarted including the 10 jumbo jet attacks planned to celebrate the anniversary of 9/11. These attacks were stopped by US and British intelligence gathering procedures.

7. If we pull out of Iraq today, terrorists would immediately focus their attention on our homeland. Instead of fighting the U.S. Army and Marines in the Mid-east, it would be a matter of days before they would be boarding planes to bring the war to U.S. soil in one manner or another.

The new direction the Democrats want us to follow would lead us to: (match with the numbers above)

1. Higher taxes. The Democrats can hardly wait until they can raise taxes. They have promised to begin by repealing the Bush tax cuts.

2. The federal deficit will rise when the “tax and spend” liberal agenda gets into full swing.

3. The Dow will drop as the Democrats push through anti-business legislation.

4. Inflation will return. Inflation won’t get completely out of hand as it did in the late 1970’s under Carter, but it will return.

5. If the home valuation trend continues it will be because of inflation rather than a robust economy.

6. Democrats will repeal the Bush Homeland Security measures making it easy for terrorists to attack us from within.

7. By prematurely cutting and running from Iraq, the terror war will be much closer to us and it may be a matter of time before it will be on our own soil.

Is this what the Democrats really mean when they say we should go in a new direction?

53 former Swift employees arrested in Texas raid

The immigration fraud connected to Swift employees is not over.

A federal grand jury has indicted 53 former workers at a Swift & Co. meat-processing plant in Cactus on felony charges of identity theft.

The former workers were among 295 people arrested in December when federal immigration agents raided the plant in the Texas Panhandle. Authorities said all had taken the identities of U.S. citizens.

Each of the 53 workers named in the indictment was charged with one count of false representation of a Social Security Number, a felony which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, according to the U.S. Attorney's office in Dallas. Many face additional charges.

Besides the Social Security count, most of the 53 defendants were also charged with aggravated identity theft, having fraudulent immigration documents, and false representation of U.S. citizenship.

Charlie Rangle explains the Democrat Iraq dilemma

There is an article in the New York Observer about the Iraq dilemma facing the Democrats.

When they gained a majority, one of the first things the Democrats wanted to do was to knock the knees out from under our military in Iraq.

The President has the power to conduct the war as he sees fit. However, congress controls spending.

With spending control in the hands of the Democrats, it seemed a simple matter for them to deny spending requested from the White House.

Representative Charles Rangel (pictured) put it all in perspective yesterday.

He began by reminding his fellow Democrats what would happen if they cut funds for Iraq when he said, “Anytime, politically, you have to explain what you are saying, you have a problem. And so if I am there saying, ‘Cut the funds for Iraq and the war in Iraq,’ then someone is going to say, ‘You are taking away rifles.’”

A decorated Korean War veteran, Mr. Rangel seemed acutely sensitive to the potential consequences of voting against money for the troops.

At that point, Mr. Rangle really got to the heart of the Democrats dilemma when he explained it in his usual salty manner:

“If my black ass was in Korea during the war and people got fed up with it,” he said, “and they cut off the money so I couldn’t get some snowshoes or underwear—well, goddamn, you are cutting the wrong people.”

Cutting the knees out from under our military in time of war is not new.

Three decades ago, Ted Kennedy authored the plan to cut funding to the Vietnam War. This ultimately gave the victory to the Communists and caused the deaths of thousands of people.

Now, 30 some years later, the Democrats are poised to do it again.

How can we trust our national security to the Democrats? We can’t.

What a politician’s can get by with largely depends on what political party they belong to.

In the case of Sandy Berger, he stole state secrets to protect his former boss, Bill Clinton. Naturally, Clinton protected Berger by keeping the media at bay. Berger only received a wrist-slap fine of $2,000.

Besides, if his boss could get away with sexual misconduct in the oval office, why couldn’t he get away with stealing a few state secrets?

The article here says that disproportionate justice is inherent to the legal system.

The written playbook might be the same for various cases, but different judges and different dynamics can lead to dramatically disparate results.

One of the first key procedural votes in the Democrat-controlled House last week established legislative rules that Republicans say will make it easier to raise taxes by a simple majority vote.

Everyone knew the Democrats would live up to their tax and spend liberal heritage. It tool less than one week for them to pave the way for tax increases by a simple majority vote.

Promise broken after only three days

Only three days after the Democrats gained a majority in the House and Senate, they welcomed lobbyists right back with open arms.

The House passed new rules, but it was only a formality because campaign fundraising hasn't changed.

Hours after changing House rules to reduce favors from lobbyists, it was back to business as usual in Washington.

Democrats threw a $1,000-a-person fundraising concert in Washington Thursday night, with Hollywood celebrities, big donors and those lobbyists writing checks to re-elect Democrats.

The Republicans did the same thing 12 years ago but the Democrats pledged to be different. A pledge that only lasted three days.

So much for congressional lobby reform.

Israel plans nuclear strike on Iran

TimesOnline from the UK is reporting that Israel has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons.

Two Israeli air force squadrons are training to blow up an Iranian facility using low-yield nuclear “bunker-busters”, according to several Israeli military sources.

The attack would be the first with nuclear weapons since 1945, when the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The Israeli weapons would each have a force equivalent to one-fifteenth of the Hiroshima bomb.

Democrat leaders want military redeplyment

Senate Majority leader Harry Reid and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi want the president to “redeploy Iraq troops.”

If the president wants them to make foreign policy he would ask them for help. In the meanwhile, they would both be well advised to learn the meaning of military terminology.

Senator Reid and Speaker Pelosi want our military to be redeployed but they didn’t say where. Did they really mean they wanted our troops brought back home? Bringing troops home would be a withdrawal, not redeployment.

The Democrats took majority control of the House and Senate on Tuesday.

Now they want to wave white surrender flags on Friday. Sure didn’t take them long.

Hillary thinks that Obama’s prospects will diminish as people realize his lack of experience.

I keep repeating myself trying to find another qualification.

Hillary is right - without any more experience than his admission of taking heroin when he was young, he could be just a flash in the pan.

Four Democrats challenging 2006 election results

When will Democrats learn to accept election losses? Time after time it’s count and recount in hope the Democrat will eventually win. It never happens that way, but they try at great expense to election commissions.

The 2000 fiasco seemed to set a precedent. There were challenges by Democrats again in 2004 and now there are four challenges two months after the 2006 election.

There are no ongoing challenges by Republicans as a result of the 2004 elections.

Is it because Democrats always think they deserve to win elections? Is it because the liberal media stirs up contention when a Democrat loses a close race?

Illegals have hard time finding legitimate work

What’s wrong with the title to this posting? There is no such thing as legitimate work for anyone here illegally.

It was taken from an article found here reporting that the Beaufort, South Carolina County Council passed a Lawful Employment Ordinance, which uses business license suspensions as a penalty for employers discovered with illegal workers. The measure passed by a 9-0 vote.

The article says that as a result of the council vote:

Illegal immigrants may have a tougher time finding legitimate work in the county.

Legitimate work for illegals indeed! No job can ever be legitimate if it is held by an illegal.

"Criminal Saddam was hanged to death," state-run Iraqiya television announced, as patriotic music and images of national monuments were broadcast.

A scrolling headline read: "Saddam's execution marks the end of a dark period of Iraq's history."

The hanging of the shotgun-waving dictator was reportedly video taped but the film will probably never be released to the public.

Iraq court says execute Saddam within 30 days

The fate of former Iraq president Saddam Hussein is sealed.

Iraq's highest appeals court on Tuesday upheld the death sentence for Saddam Hussein in his first trial and said it must be carried out within 30 days.

The sentence "must be implemented within 30 days," chief judge Aref Shahin.

"From tomorrow, any day could be the day of implementation."
