Roar of ailing liberal lion energizes Denver DNC

The ailing Senator Ted Kennedy spoke at the convention Monday night.

There was not a dry eye in the audience as he received thunderous applause during his speech.

Kennedy, 76, was dressed in a dark suit and smiled broadly, his voice booming throughout the packed Pepsi Center as he said: “I pledge to you that I will be with you in January on the floor of the Senate when we begin the great battle.”

The last of the Kennedy brothers shook off the effects of his treatments for brain cancer to address the convention.
