TBS announcer Chip Carey (grandson of legendary sportscaster Harry Carey) referred to the Rockies as “destiny’s darlings.” A somewhat naïve ESPN commentator referred to the Rocky’s win streak as “freakish.”
What a lot of people don’t realize is that the Rockies have the highest fielding rating for the entire season and their pitching has been excellent even though their home field is a “hitters ballpark.”
Freakish or destiny’s darlings, the Rockies are one win away from an invitation to the World Series and they have four chances to get that fourth win.
