Limbaugh smear letter sells for $2,100,100 on eBay
Harry Reid (shown on left) engineered a letter in the U.S. Senate intended to bash Rush Limbaugh (shown on right). The smear letter was signed on the Senate floor by the Senators listed at the end of this posting.
The smear backfired. Limbaugh made lemonade out of the lemons when the original letter was put up for sale on eBay with the proceeds going to charity.

Up until now, the largest charity auction on eBay was Jay Leno’s Harley Davidson motorcycle that sold for $800,000.00. That was a celebrity Harley-Davidson. This auction was four pieces of paper.
Four pieces of paper that will haunt the left-wing of the U.S. Senate for years to come.
Word is that Harry Reid thanked Limbaugh for the auction on the Senate floor this morning. It will take more than that to wipe the egg off his face.

The pocket protector may be making a comeback
I thought the old pocket protector of the middle of the twentieth century had finally faded from the scene.
Not so.
The pocket protector seems to be making a comeback.
Some are referring to it as a “nerd pack” designed to hold at least five writing instruments. One can never be too prepared.
They are always made of white plastic. In the 1960’s most of them had company logos advertising STP or Texaco motor oil.
I never used a pocket protector but then I was more persnickety than most.
Many of my co-workers wore them proudly bragging how many shirts were saved from leaky pens.
I preferred a silver A.T. Cross pen and pencil in my shirt pocket without a pocket protector sheath.
The new pocket protectors are worn by tech people who have started a “geek chick” movement.
In case you want to make your own, DIY instructions can be found here. An old pocket protector patent drawing can be found here.

20 wins in the last 21 games!
The Colorado Rockies baseball team keeps on rockin’.
TBS announcer Chip Carey (grandson of legendary sportscaster Harry Carey) referred to the Rockies as “destiny’s darlings.”
A somewhat naïve ESPN commentator referred to the Rocky’s win streak as “freakish.”
What a lot of people don’t realize is that the Rockies have the highest fielding rating for the entire season and their pitching has been excellent even though their home field is a “hitters ballpark.”
Freakish or destiny’s darlings, the Rockies are one win away from an invitation to the World Series and they have four chances to get that fourth win.
