Five games.

Five losses.

Michigan

It was the first time since 2002 that none of the league's teams could muster a win on New Year's Day.

It was the first time since 2002 that none of the league's teams had a win on New Year's Day.

The biggest disappointments were Michigan and Michigan State. They embarrassed themselves and the conference, losing by a combined 101-21 to Mississippi State and Alabama.

Adding salt to the Big Ten wounds, Nebraska, which becomes the Big Ten's 12th member next season, was upset by Washington 19-7 in the Bridgeport Education Holiday Bowl.

The Big Ten did manage to win two non-New Year's Day bowl games with one more to be played.
