Senate confirms Elena Kagan for Supreme Court

The Senate confirmed Elena Kagan (pictured) Thursday as the Supreme Court's 112th justice and fourth woman on the bench.

She will succeed retired Justice John Paul Stevens by a vote of 63-37.

Kagan isn't expected to alter the ideological balance of the court, where Stevens was considered a leader of the liberals.
