7 ft long Great Dane may be world's tallest dog

David and Christine Nasser of Tuscon, Arizona are applying to Guinness World Records in hopes their dog will become the official tallest dog in the world.

The previous holder of the record was Gibson, a Harlequin Great Dane. Gibson died of cancer in August, 2009.

George is nearly 43 inches tall and weighs a whopping 245 pounds. He eats 110 pounds of food every month and sleeps alone in his own queen size bed.

George, a Blue Great Dane (shown above) was born in 2002, looks more like a miniature horse than a dog. He measures almost the same, at 7 ft 3 inches from nose to tail and 42.625 inches at the shoulder.

The giant dog even has his own Facebook and Twitter accounts for his fans.
