Times Square hit with 40 tons of trash New Years Eve

Cleanup crews hit the streets shortly after midnight to began the massive task of removing the nearly 40 tons of confetti and countless noisemakers left behind by the one million revelers.

Wind gusts of nearly 25 mph throughout the city didn’t help matters.

The biggest cleanup challenge was shooing away the massive crowd so crews could begin the job of cleaning up.
