It was hinted earlier that Tim Russert (pictured) was eager to testify at the Scooter Libby trial. Along with his colleagues David Gregory and Andrea Mitchell, Russert was hoping to help the prosecutions case.Tim Russert’s appearance on the witness stand during the trial, however, was no help to special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald is trying to prove that Scooter Libby lied to a grand jury.
